Birdwatching may be a recreational or a scientific activity. It may be done with the naked eye, or using binoculars or spotting scopes, as well as by listening for bird sounds.
A five-day tour in Astrakhan Reserve acquaints participants with at least 100 bird species characteristic of the Volga delta. A more comprehensive ten-day tour also includes (in addition to the reserve) visits to steppe lakes, sand dunes and mountains.
The Volga delta is an important area for numerous migratory bird species, where in the spring and fall millions of birds stop to rest. It is a true “paradise” for ornithologists and birdwatchers from all over the world. Birds may be observed here which are rare and included in the Red Book.
Prices:
— Ten-day tour for a group of 15 people is 1,200 Euros per person;
— Five-day tour (only to Astrakhan Reserve) for a group of 15 people is 600 Euros per person;
